ABF Bearings, BearingNet member since 1997, are optimising the space in one of their warehouses to prepare for the expected increase in their bearing inventory.
ABF currently have warehouse space of 6,000 sqm, which is not expected to be efficient for further growth resulting in ABF needing extra storage capacity.
“Our strategy is to stock a wide range of bearings. Currently we have over 85,000 different bearings available in our webshop which are all delivered from stock. Also our ‘specials’ can be shipped worldwide the same working day. This strategy urges us to be creative with our available warehouse space.”

To create the extra space needed for the increase in inventory a new concrete floor has been poured and new storage racks have been put in place. The new

warehouse is now equipped with smart, extra small aisles to fully make use of the available space. In order to pick items more efficiently, ABF have also invested in a new reach truck which is suitable for the new, smaller aisles.
