New Magnet Plate Based on Solid-Core Ring Magnet Technology

Alpaqua Engineering, LLC, has announced the release of the Magnum FLX24® Universal 24-well Magnet Plate. This is the most recent addition to the line of magnet plates used in magnetic, bead-based, nucleic acid isolation applications like cell-free DNA (cfDNA) analysis, next generation sequencing (NGS), DNA and RNA extraction, sequencing and PCR clean up and exome capture.

The Magnum FLX24 employs solid-core concentric ring magnet architecture that enables up to 30% faster separation times and the ability to elute in as little as 40 microliters. Alpauqua has also announced the release of the US patent 9,663,780 covering its solid-core ring magnet technology. The geometry of the solid-core rings magnets facilitates more rapid separation of all sample volumes and low volume nucleic acid elution.

The Magnum FLX24® has a combination of concentric NdFeB magnets including solid-core ring magnets. This is designed for magnetic bead separation from large volume or high viscosity solutions like blood or animal/plant lysates. The capabilities are complemented by universal compatibility with all 24-well deepwell microplates and robotic platforms. The Magnum FLX24® magnet plate contains integrated spring cushion technology for improved automated pipetting consistency and sample recovery.
