LE Solves Grease Wash-out Problem in Excavator Buckets

1

Customer Problem Located in the southern U.S., this company manufactures ash 2products for industrial and residential customers.

The end product is an inexpensive alternative to concrete. The company has been an LE customer since 2013.
Application Komatsu 200 PC excavators are used to remove raw material from pits for production processing.
Challenge The buckets on the company’s excavators are often submerged in water and experience temperatures as high as 93°C (200°F). The competitor’s grease the company was using washed out of the bucket pins quickly due to the constant exposure to heat, humidity and water. Operators often had to stop work to regrease the pins. If they failed to regrease often enough, the pins froze up. This constant need for regreasing resulted in downtime and lost production.
LE Solution Aaron Turner, local LE lubrication consultant, recommended LE’s Almagard® Vari-Purpose Lubricant (3752) to help combat the effects of water and high temperatures.3

LE Solution (cont.)

Almagard 3752 is extremely tacky and will not wash off, pound out or melt and run, even in severe conditions. It is recommended for extended service applications and is ideal for off-road equipment where high impact occurs, as well as many in-plant applications.
